Heb Peret has previously been held in person and will again when it's safe. This year, due to the ongoing pandemic, we're celebrating virtually. Though we won't be seeing you in person, Ankh UDja Seneb Center has created a festive, informative program. Attend as much of the two-day event as you'd like; plan to attend both days, sessions that interest you the most, or only come for the communal feast or closing ceremony.
Ankh UDja Seneb Center is committed to sharing knowledge and building community. We welcome you to discuss your thoughts, ask questions, and get to know other attendees throughout these two days. Even from home, there are opportunities for you to participate in the Heb Peret celebration:
Eat your meal during the livestream with other attendees
Seed Planting Ceremony
Plant seeds along with Seba, Ray Shellmire to celebrate the seed and honor its ability to transform into food for our bodies.
-Sprouting containers (Compostible peet pots or small, clean yogurt containers)
-Seed starting soil
-1-2 types of vegetable seeds (select varieties that grow in spring in your area)
-A place to transfer sprouted seeds (i.e. window boxes, raised beds, pots, community garden plot, etc.)
Raise your voice with other attendees to a song from Stevie Wonder's "The Secret Life of Plants"
Part of building community is sharing with others. Here are some suggestions on how you may share Heb Peret with your family, friends, coworkers, and others in your community.
Share the Event
-Invite others to go to www.hebperet.com to register and attend
-Share our Facebook, LinkedIn, or Instagram post with your friends and followers
Take notes during the sessions and share the knowledge you gained with others.
All attendees will be provided resources for further exploration on the topics we cover throughout the event. We invite you to share these resources with others through social media, email, or discussion forums.
